Jodhpur  affe

the blue city

From our tranquil city Jaisalmer we moved in 4 hours and 300 km to Jodhpur, the second largest city of Rajasthan. The trip was varied again with relatively little traffic and lively village and street life.
The city is famous for its blue -painted houses in the old town and the huge majestic Mehrangarh Fort, which consists of a magnificent palace complex and surrounded by powerful fortifications. Based on an audio tour you can relive the history of the fort. Here we met manly Indian visitor groups and families. To watch theme was also worth seeing at all.

We stayed for 2 days in Pal Haveli, located in the heart of Old Town, just below the fortress between Sardarmarket and clock tower, with a great roof terrace overlooking the fort.
It was a great location, because we could plunge us straight into the Indian bazaar bustle and this here topped everything we had seen before! The people here like it extremely to be photographed and the motives incredibly beautiful.

Much more tranquil and quiet it was in the nearby Mandor Gardens, a beautiful park with columns palaces, pavilions, fountains, monkeys and with a great Indian pic-nic atmosphere. Were admired by the Indian families again and almost constantly asked to take photos of them. It was a great fun for us and for the families.

Another sightseeing destination was the Umaid Bhawan Palace, a colossal building which is still partly occupied by the Maharaja, the rest is a museum, and how could it be otherwise, a luxury hotel.
