Uluru
National Park

From
Sydney we flew 3 1/2 hours to the heart of the red centre of Australia, the Ayers Rock, the
mystical monolith and Holy Mountain of the Aborigines.
The
Ayers Rock, is the greatest tourist attraction of Australia and part of the
Uluru national park. In the holiday complex "Ayers Rock Resort" is
everything organized. From great Camping Ground to a 5 star hotel, everything is
represented.
Our accommodation was the Outback
Pioneer Lodge. The price (US$ 70,-) was to expensive for a 4-Bed-Room with one
double-and one stick bed and sanitary rooms in the near camping complex.
In
the afternoon, we go by bus with many other tourists to the Olgas, 30 km far
away from the Camp. We booked this trip from at home by Internet.

The
trips and routs, which were offered by the agency of the Camp are very very
touristy and had nothing to do with the felling of wildness and loneliness that
we expected here.
We
spent 2 days in the Resort, but there was no individuality, everything was in
the bulk. But not only the many tourists disturbed our stay but also the million
of thick black flies, a special characteristic of the "Outback". Our
guided "Liru Tour" with an Aborigine was not the unique cultural
experience, too. It was only made for Tourist.

The
experience Sunrise and Sunset at the Ayers Rock we thought, it is a unique and
singular experience, but nothing at all! We divided it with 50 further bus
groups of Tourists from all over the world.

All in
all, only the grandiose landscape was an experience.
