   Luang Prabang

the Jewel of Laos

Luang Prabang, the jewel of Laos, was in 1995, declared to the World Heritage. The whole city is really unique and belongs for us to the most beautiful places in Asia. We were immediately enchanted by this wonderful atmosphere here.
With more than 32 pagodas, the city is also the religious centre of Laos. Everywhere you see monks in their bright orange robes. For us, belongs the morning alm-giving to the absolute highlights.

Here you can all explore by foot without any problems,  the old city centre with its beautiful wooden houses, the market, small side streets, or one of the many beautiful pagodas.

Everywhere you will find little cafes and restaurants where you can  take a little break. We preferred to sit in the old town which is located between the Mekong and Nam Khan River. Here you can enjoy the beautiful landscape by a well tasted Beer Lao.

But also the surrounding of the city is great, we were very surprised from the Kuang Xi waterfall, it is a really great waterfall which many small pools in a jungle-area.
