Now we explore the south part of Laos. We flew with Lao air smoothly
and with no problems to Pakse, the third largest city of Laos.
Pakse itself is not really worth seeing, beside its location on the
Mekong River there are only some colonial houses and markets. For us
was Pakse a stopover for our trip to the Bolavenplateau and our
continued journey. |
The
Bolavenplateau is Laos pure. Here live many mountain peoples, and
the time seems to have stopped. Only the electricity comes from
generators, but the whole live is still going its traditional way.
The plateau is famous for its coffee plantations. Everywhere you see
the beans drying in the sun. The people here live mainly from
agriculture or handicraft. One of the villages we visited, is known
for its handmade wooden coffins, they store it under every house,
until they are needed. It was an unusual experience for us.

The Landscape is very attractive here, many different wonderful and
great waterfalls we visited just only 4 of it and it was famous and
very beautiful. All in all our trip to the plateau was very nice,
adventurous and exhausting, and we will don’t miss it.
