Wat Phra Keo and

Grand Palace
The Wat Phra Keo is one of the most spectacular
temple districts of the world and together with the grand palace you can find a
nothing-comparable area in the rest of Asia. Of course we get there by express
boat. From the river we saw already the golden stupa at the entrance, shining in
the sun.

After short walk along the sidewalks with the
authentic open-air kitchens, souvenir shops, Tuk Tuks and so on, you reach the
main entrance. Only with long trousers, covered shoulders and closed shoes you
can go in. You can borrow these clothes at the entrance desk for less money, too.

In 1996 it was our first visit of this spectacular
and fascinating district and it became a very great photo shooting and a big
video event. The indescribable splendour of thousands of jewels, gold platted
statues and mirror mosaics took us the breath. We were sure, that we would come
back again during our next visit to Bangkok.

Two years later we came back again, but without
photo camera and video. We took a guide and we listened the whole history of the
grand palace, he told us. It’s been an extraordinary experience.
