Modern Bangkokand means of transport |
In Bangkok of course, there exists not only the picturesque markets, Klongs, small houses and shops, but it also provides a beautiful skyline with its many architecturally multifaceted skyscrapers. Outstanding are the two tallest skyscrapers of Thailand, the State Tower with 247 m and the tallest building, the Bayoke Tower with 304 m. The State Tower is with its famous Sirocco Skybar, the excellent restaurants and the 30 m high dome the first hot spot of Bangkok. |

But also the Baiyoke Tower has a lot to offer, even though it is already a bit old. The highlight is the rotating observation deck. Especially during the blue hour and later with the sea of lights, the view is almost hard to beat. |
Even the traffic in Bangkok has changed and the city suffocated almost in its traffic jams on the roads, often there is no more way through, so that the ride by taxis, buses or tuk tuks becomes a game of patience. Other public transport are becoming increasingly important. On the water operate mostly diverse public boats. The ordinary ferry boats across the river, the express boats and longtail boats are used by many Thais, especially since these are inexpensive. |
The Skytrain, usually cooled down comfortably at 18 ° C is, however, in the meantime also well used and has a really good route network and is further expanded.
We use them often, because the distances in Bangkok are very far. |
Since several years, there is also an underground network and we used them the first time. As in the Skytrain, everything is cooled down to comfortable 18 ° C here. Unfortunately, Metro and Skytrain have no a common ticket, there is no network between them. |
The railway network is relatively well developed between the big cities, but the local railway traffic network is in a worse condition. It rumbles and wiggles quite massive on the crooked rails. |
Here are some pictures of the nightly skyline. |
