Nakhon Phanom
Nakhon Phanom is the province capital but not compared with the rest of Thailand Here is Thailand just “country”. Internet there is only in few hotels and very very slowly. There is no Shopping centre, no Fast Food Restaurants .There you can find simply nothing which you can find in Thailand everywhere, although the city has 40,000 inhabitants. We hope that this still remains for a long time (from our view). On our way there we visited the largest sanctuary of completely northeast Thailand, the Wat That Phanom. Here everything glitters in gold and white. We were very impressed and inspired from this beautiful place. It reminded us of Burma.

In
addition, the landscape on the way had its special attraction. Here above all
tobacco is cultivated and processed in small family factories, which gave
naturally beautiful motives for our photos.
The centre and meeting point beside the Clock Tower is the market, where all possible one is offered and for our palates also impossible ones. For the public transportations you must take the Tuk Tuks. They are used for every kind of transports. There are fantastically beautiful old models which are not comparing to the tourists Tuk Tuks in other places of Thailand. The travel –fee is only 20 Bath!
Not only by the many
Wats has the place radiated a leisurely peace.
It is above all the Mekong that, despite from the Ferry-boats to Laos, which make the calm live here. Particularly the evening tendency at the river is uniquely beautiful.
