Travelogues HOME back to Ibiza part 1 I B I Z A Part 2
The beaches of the island are frequently very differently . The beaches closest to the city such as Playa den Bossa and Les Salinas had been in July an accumulation of mass tourism, witch we didn`t like. Also Es Cavalet with its long natural beach was not to our liking, because of the seaweed and those lonely men "on-the-lookout". Therefore we rented a scooter (look for a good price!) and drove approx. 500 km throughout the island. On the route we found our favourite beach in the northeast of the island. "Aiguas Blancas" with several beautiful sandy bays and rock formations, crystal clear waters, less people and ideal for snorkelling. On our scooter trips on different roads and trails we saw the green, beautiful and flowering inside of the island and enjoyed the smell of stone-pine and rosmary. It is a special experience in the evening to take the little ferryboat that crosses the harbour right to the new yacht harbour on the other side. Enjoy the spectacular view of Dalt Vila. Interesting to walk back by foot (approx. 1 Std.) along the piers to have a look at the big expensive yachts lined up there. Ibiza was the culinary highlight of the Mediterranean cooking style for us. Nowhere can you find such an array of first-class restaurants. Already at the Plaza de Vila, there is one aside of another. Quality and service are excellent in each of them. We recommend the following restaurants. Ibiza is really an alternative to Mykonos, although here everything is bigger, shriller and louder (caused by the cheap mass tourism). But we changed to one of our calmer places, when the huzzle and buzzle became too much. We will come back again alternating with Mykonos. Hasta Luego Ibiza !!
