The party island of the Balearics!

"What do you want there?" our friends asked us. We had spent the last 3 years of our summer holidays on Mykonos and were looking for an alternative. As we didn't want to use the offers of the usual travel agencies we looked on the internet for our accomodation. We got very lucky and found a charming, calm flat in Eivissa, within the centuries old wall of Dalt Vila. (fortress)

We liked it at first sight. From the small balcony we looked down to the Plaza de Vila with its nice restaurants, cafes, boutiques and galleries and enjoyed the wonderful and artistic ambiance here on this place.

Walking on the big city wall you always have a spectacular view on the lower part of the town and over the harbour.

Who likes it somewhat livelier, should go to the lower part of the old town, at the port. There are a lot of restaurants of all categories, Bars, taverns, boutiques and shops with the usual Souvenirs. This part is called “the mile" (between the promenadeportside, Calle Mayor and Calle de la Virgin). This is the best place for people watching and to be seen. The nightly parade of the Disco animators is more than remarkable. Starting at midnight there is party-feaver rising!! Around this time you can see one of every kind....  travesties, Disco queens, leathers and lacquer, everyone is shrill and crazy. An interesting scene.

A much calmer corner is the Placa del Parque, where we often had our night cup. The restaurants, Bars and cafes here are mostly frequented by the Spanish people. One of our favourite places in the old town.
